Eligibility
- Primary audience: MD/PhD+ researchers in life sciences affiliated with Swiss academic institutions
- Limited slots available for participants from non-life science backgrounds (business, finance, economics, management, data science, informatics, physics, etc.)
Important information
- 2026 Course dates:
- Module A (spring semester): 04 and 18 February 2026
- Module B: weekly from 03.03 until 05.05.2026 (location will alternate between Campus Schlieren, UZH main building, and Campus Irchel)
- Module A (fall semester): tbc
- Maximum capacity: 24 participants per Module.
- Selected participants will work in teams of 3-5 members; Teams will be formed based on idea compatibility and complementary skills.
- As part of your registration, please describe your motivation for joining and a potential business idea you'd like to explore during the program.
Note: YYour business concept may be hypothetical or derived from your research. The program is designed as a learning experience that allows you to explore possibilities in a supportive setting.

Registration is binding as soon as you receive the confirmation email from the program organizers.
Course and registration policy (UZH rules)
- With your registration you commit yourself to attending the whole course. Please do not cancel without serious reason.
- Cancellations more than 2 weeks before the course starts are free of charge
- Cancellations between 1 and 2 weeks before the course starts will be charged a fee of CHF 60.--
- Cancellations at shorter notice, unexcused absences or absences during the course will be charged a fee of CHF 200.--
- Cancellations due to illness without a medical certificate will be charged a fee as mentioned above
Important Note: Video Recordings and Photographs
During the course, participants will be recorded on video and photographs will be taken. Videos are recorded for study purposes as well as for participants’ critical self-evaluation and will be provided to the participants for their own records.
By registering, the participant accepts that recordings and photographs can be used both for internal and advertising purposes. If this is not desired, the BEI team must be informed before the start of each module.
